Meditation is like going to a great feast, with a banquet table laid with food of all varieties, from all nations, cultures and time periods. This CD is a taste, a sampling. Where does one begin? With your heart and your intuition. What calls to you?
Meditation is a communion with Spirit, your own indwelling Spirit and Divine Spirit. A prime objective in meditation is to let go of the busy outer world and tune into the quiet inner realm. When we let go of the external world we can allow our body to relax, focus our mind and calm our fears and anxiety. Be in a state of stillness while keeping the mind awake, alert and attentive. The meditation process can also change our brain waves from the normal Beta frequency to the deeper levels of Alpha and Theta that encourage stillness.
For me meditation is also a process of taking out the garbage. We all collect garbage in our homes and at least once a week the garbage in the house is removed so it doesn’t get too stinky. Smelly garbage is unpleasant. Our minds and bodies are the same way. Through meditation we have the opportunity to take out the garbage. It is a time to get rid of the old stagnant energy that has collected over time. Let go of the fear and untruths feed to us by society, the constant bombardment by the media and electronic devices, not to mention work, family members and even friends giving us advice.
Meditation can be a way of stopping the world, emptying the mind of thoughts and opening to the great unknown, to Universal Spirit, to God.
