Aimee began studying and practicing Buddhist meditation in 1973. Her first teachers were Joseph Goldstein, Jack Kornfield and Goenka. She has taught Vipasanna meditation at Lane CC in Eugene, OR. Major highlights were attending silent meditation retreats without reading, writing, talking or eye contact. These sacred, silent times allowed for deep access to the mind-body-spirit experience.
In 1980 Aimee began living the Native American way of life; partaking in numerous vision quests, pilgrimages, sweat lodge, pipe and Sundance ceremonies. Gaining a solid connection to the earth and the heart beat of humanity can allow one to be grounded and powerful in daily life.
Also in the 80’s she began practicing and then teaching Kundalini yoga with Yogi Bhajan and the 3HO Foundation. The practice wakes one up from within; consciously structuring life around healthy, healing choices. It integrates one more fully with reality giving a broader vision and sensitivity to act more compassionately in the world.
In 2001 Aimee began her exploration and study of the Science of Mind, quantum physics, turn of the century and new age philosophy; concluding with a practitioner license via the Centers for Spiritual Living. This ongoing practice has allowed for a more expansive opening of the heart.
Another major life influence has been a lifetime connection to nature. Aimee was raised in the country and spent many hours communing with nature. She learned about the stars from her father who was a navigator during WW II. Hiking, sleeping under the stars, nature photography and wandering about the local farmers fields allow for an intimate connection to the cycles of nature. Being in nature is being at one with Spirit.
workshops, coaching and her version of spirituality are based on the SOM teachings, Buddhism, quantum physics, ancient wisdom, her love of nature, the common truth in all religions and the expression her own creative urge. Her
commitment to life is based on the awareness that we are all connected, we all come
from the One Source and we all live here on Earth together.
